The Childrenīs Choir
As part of its efforts to contribute towards fostering the highest forms of cultural expression, the Prince of Asturias Foundation created the music department in 1983, which led one year later to the founding of the Senior Choir. Thanks to the efforts of its conductors and members, this has gained deserved national and international prestige over the years. The Youth Choir and the Childrens' Choir followed in 1998 and 1990 respectively. The three groups have been a springboard for the training of hundreds of voices and for keeping Asturias' unbroken historical links with music alive.
The Foundation thereby hopes to foster the traditional love of the people of Asturias for choral music, and to bear it to its greatest heights through the Music Department's staunch efforts to provide musical training.
