CHRIS JOHNS, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EDITOR-IN-CHIEF ALONG WITH STUDENTS FROM NUMEROUS POSTGRADUATE CLASSES TOOK PART IN THE IV EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNALISM FORUM

The event was attended by 200 postgraduate students on journalism and presented by Pep Cabelló, National Geographic editor for Spain. María Jesús Álvarez, president of the Principality's Parliament, introduced both magazine editors. During his speech, Chris Johns shared his journalism experiences and showed some of the best photographs to appear in National Geographic. In 2005, Chris Johns became National Geographic´s ninth editor-in-chief since the society was launched in 1888. LAUREATES FOR THE XXVI EDITION OF THE PRINCE OF ASTURIAS AWARDS ARRIVE IN ASTURIAS

The Laureates for the XXVI edition of the Prince of Asturias Awards, which holds its grand presentation ceremony on Friday 20th October in the Campoamor Theatre, began arriving in Oviedo on Tuesday 17th October.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORERS PARADE THE PRINCE OF ASTURIAS AWARD FOR COMMUNICATION AND HUMANITIES IN AVILES WITH THEIR 'THE ADVENTURE OF EXPLORATION'

National Geographic explorers, photographers and directors shared their experiences in a conference entitled 'The Adventure of Exploration' during their visit to Asturias to collect the Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities.

During their stay in Oviedo, the 2006 Prince of Asturias Award Laureates met the press on a number of occasions besides participating in the Aula Príncipe events that had been scheduled. The timetable for press conferences was as follows.

CONFERENCE WITH PEDRO ALMODOVAR AT OVIEDO´S TEATRO FILARMÓNICA

Pedro Almodóvar, 2006 Prince of Asturias Award for Arts, gave a conference on Wednesday at Oviedo?s Teatro Filarmónica that was chaired by author Vicente Molina Foix.
