Concord and Sports complete winners´ list for twenty-fifth edition of Prince of Asturias Awards The 2005 Prince of Asturias Award for Concord, bestowed on the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, and the Award for Sports, given to Spanish Formula 1 racing driver Fernando Alonso, have brought the list of Prince of Asturias Award Laureates to a close. On September 6th, the 2005 Prince of Asturias Award for Sports Jury bestowed the accolade on Spanish Formula 1 racing driver Fernando Alonso for his prodigious, exemplary career, which began in childhood and has since been marked by a determination to succeed and a willingness to confront hardships for the sake of his sport that have made him a benchmark for the younger generations of the world at large.   News Porrúa, in the borough of Llanes, 2005 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award Porrua, in Llanes has been given the 2005 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award. The Jury for the Award announced its decision in Oviedo on September 15th. Graciano García awarded Asturias Gold Medal, the Principality´s highest accolade The Director of the Prince of Asturias Foundation received the accolade in recognition of him having nurtured the progress of the Prince of Asturias Awards and for his commitment towards promoting culture and democratic values. Prince of Asturias Foundation rated by United Nations "an example to the world" for its support of music teaching The Foundation will take part in the World Music Forum, to be held in Los Angeles between October 1st and 5th.
