1986 Award Winners

The members of the Jury for the 1986 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences, Óscar Alzaga, Ignacio Bayón, Claudio Boada, Miguel Boyer, Ángel Fernández Noriega, Fernando García de Cortázar, Salvador Giner, Landelino Lavilla, Aurelio Menéndez, Rafael Pérez Escolar, Alejandro Rebollo, Joaquín Ruiz-Giménez, Jordi Solé Tura and Rodrigo Uría, gathered in Oviedo on the 15th and 16th of May, 1986 under the presidency of Antonio Hernández Gil and with Álvaro Cuervo acting as secretary, have decided by majority to grant this award to José Luis Pinillos Díaz, whose contribution to the promotion and advancement of empirical psychology in Spain has been decisive. His work is not only of great scientific originality and relevance, but has also allowed the large school of psychologists to exist in Spain. The Jury also pays homage to his human qualities and fruitful teaching.
