These three charitable organisations, which centre their activities on aid for minors with problems, in situations of poverty or isolation, are the winners of the Prince of Asturias Award for Concord 1994.
Save the Children is the UK's leading international children's charity to create a better future for children. In a world where children are denied basic human rights, Save the Children champion the right of all children to childhood. They put the reality of children's lives at the heart of everything they do.
Save the Children works in the UK and across the world. Emergency relief runs alongside long-term development and prevention work to help children, their families and communities to be self-sufficient. Learning from the reality of children's lives they campaign for solutions to the problems children face. Save the Children team gains expertise through its projects round the world and use that knowledge to educate and advise others.
All their work is underpinned by their commitment to making a reality or the rights of children, first spelt out by the founders and now enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
